bare - back ...

The 3 channel video work entitled " bare - back ... ", was shot outdoors: surrounded by vegetation. The result is a nature walk that undergoes transformation into a video poem about life; in the beauty and nature, between life and death, love and hate, melancholy and hope. Or in the words of Schubert: Sehnsucht.

The images taken, edited and assembled are accompanied by andante sostenuto of Franz Schubert (sonata in si bemolle opera postuma D. 960) performed by pianist Alessandro Tenaglia

Paolo Ravalico Scerri works mainly within the field of video through installations and video interventions, where the relation with the exhibition context and environment are quite important. Since awhile the artist develops thematic and special web projects like scerri.eu; a web TV and from the beginning he has worked with different languages, among others television. With his new proposal he means to give a contribution with his own point of view to a specific sphere, that continuously and tenaciously evolves inside contemporary arts and creativity.

All these characteristics have been taken into consideration by the artist in order to draw a new poetics of the needs commonly accepted inside our society, that often turns out to be unable to recognize beauty, feeling and life.

Paolo Ravalico Scerri mainly expresses himself with video productions, installations and multi-screen interventions. Since the beginning of his career he investigated social topics, like civil rights, or either pointing out very often paradoxes of mankind. His interventions have been realized in different occasions; festivals, exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

il video a tre canali intitolato "bare-back" è girato in un esterno, circondato dalla vegetazione. Una passeggiata nella natura si trasforma in un video poema sulla vita. Nella bellezza e nella natura, tra vita e morte, amore e odio, malinconia e speranza. O nelle parole di Schubert: Sehnsucht.

Le immagini sono accompagnate da un andante sostenuto di Franz Schubert (Sonata in Si Bemolle Opera Postuma D. 960) eseguiti dal pianista Alessandro Tenaglia.

Paolo Ravalico Scerri, opera nel settore video, divide la sua attività tra interventi video installativi che prevedono di volta in volta una relazione con l'ambiente espositivo e con i temi trattati nel diversi progetti e da qualche anno con progetti web tra cui scerri.eu, una web tv. Dall'inizio della sua attività l'artista si è confrontato con diversi linguaggi tra cui quello televisivo e con questa nuova proposta intende dare il suo personale punto di vista ad un settore in continua evoluzione e sempre più pervasivo nella contemporaneità.

Paolo Ravalico Scerri si esprime prevalentemente attraverso produzioni video, installazioni e interventi multischermo; ha indagato tematiche sociali - legate ad esempio ai diritti civili - ma ha anche rivolto la sua attenzione a stili di  vita e particolari come anche agli evidenti non sense   dell´umanità.
